From Milk to Meals: A Guide to Starting Solids
Starting solids is one of the most exciting milestones in your baby's first year, but it can also feel overwhelming. What foods should you offer first? How do you know your baby is truly ready? What about choking versus gagging? This four-session programme takes the guesswork out of introducing solids so you can approach mealtimes with confidence and calm.
Designed for parents of babies around six months old, each weekly session builds on the last, guiding you step by step from first tastes through to independent self-feeding. The sessions will cover:
- Recognising when your baby is ready and setting up for safe, positive mealtimes
- Choosing first foods and preparing age-appropriate textures
- Reading your baby's hunger and fullness cues and navigating common reactions like food refusal
- Introducing finger foods and building confidence around gagging versus choking
By the end of the programme, you will feel equipped to plan nutritious meals, respond to your baby's cues with confidence, and create a positive feeding foundation that supports their development well beyond the first year.
